Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Jolly Tars (JD Wetherspoon)
Relatively new 'spoons in a rather anonymous converted shop set behind an outdoor seating area on the wide pavement. However, the interior is much more appealing, with a feature fireplace, decorative bar-back, a mix of furniture (including some booths filing the spaces between some of the central columns), etc. Also had a good selection of nine different beers from the two banks of five handpumps, including White Witch and Witch's Cauldon (£2.39) from Moorhouse's and several other less usual brews from further afield.

As noted below the Jolly Tars is a shop conversion but a more recent one and they've made an effort to make it a bit more interesting. It is an open plan square room with two odd looking enclosures in the middle. It's on the expensive side for a JDW with standard guest ale price of £2.59 and the food a bit dearer than average.
The ten hand pumps had one unused, Doom Bore doubled up, Ruddles, Cumberland Great Corby Stout, Dunscar Blissful Blonde, Moorhouse White Witch, Thwaites Lancaster Bomber, Burton Bridge Porter and Phoenix Wobbly Bob. I went for the Blissful Blonde (£2.59) which was in good nick. Despite the slightly higher prices than usual I thought this was a good Spoons. It's GBG 2017 listed.

A fairly decent Wethers. Its an open plan square basically with the usual Wethers fixtures. 10 handpumps on the bar and, today at least, a decent selection. Lots of wood panelling and 2 little booths in the middle of the pub.
