Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Retreat
If you believe the 'Wine Bar & Food' branding you will probably keep going but this turns out to be a reasonable pub / restaurant. Yes, it's upmarket and paintwork is a rather off-putting crimson, but on a cold early-winter day there was a warming log-burner and my pint of Ramsbury Gold (£3.80) was in excellent condition. With the second handpump offering Bath Ales Otter, this one's rather better than I expected.
