Call in here for a beer on a fairly regular basis now. Despite the pretentions the beer is always in good nick. Mobberley Brewhouse Taking The Pith on this occasion.

This bar has made it into the CAMRA GBG2013. Only 2 beers on the bar though when we called in twice over two days recently. Both beers were from Liverpool Organic and both were in good condition to be fair.

Fairly new addition to the cask ale scene in Liverpool. This is a modern, large, one roomer with a raised area to the left and another area to the right both set up for dining. In the middle are a couple of high tables with stools along with some bar stools for drinkers. We first called in here on a weekday afternoon and the other half loved it, so we came back that evening. In the evening it was very busy & buzzy and the great range of ale from Liverpool Craft & Liverpool Organic amongst others from Lancaster brewery meant that I was pretty happy as well. We came back the following evening for something to eat. This was a mistake. Pretentious, over priced, average quality food I'm afraid. How can you have a steak & ale pie on a board with peas in a little dish and no gravy? Very poor value and so far up their own arse that it probably hurts. We'll be back for the beer and the atmosphere, but will never eat here again.

A psuedo-upmarket place. Expensive and full of some of the most pretentious tits in existence. Real ale is available but don't bother.

A restaurant with five pulls usually with beer from the Liverpool One brewery with two or three guests. Modern sort of exposed bricks and metal conduits decor. A mainly middle class or aspiring clientele and I found it deeply unpleasant as I'm not in the target demographic. Not hugely welcoming to casual drinkers and for me basically a waste of time. Beer quality not up to much either and somehow it's in the GBG 2014.
