I forgot to mention the pub's most unusual feature. I'm not sure whether it's unique, but I've never come across another pub where the beer cellar is upstairs! I'd told a friend of mine about the beer attic a few times, but he never believed me. I've added a photo of the afternoon delivery on Xmas Eve to prove that I wasn't pulling his leg.

A real surprise. A former travel agency has been transformed by the Rhymney Brewery into a cosy, friendly, gimmick-free old school pub. Right in the town centre, you could walk past it without seeing it. A log-burning stove pumps out the heat, while two big screens give plenty of scope for watching sport. The juke box is never too loud, the drinks are very reasonably priced, and the clientele are a good mixed bunch. Real Ale fans really should try Rhymney's own brews.
