The Woodpecker is a typical looking estate pub that was built to serve the Mackworth Estate.
When i first went in this pub it was a Bass tied house with a decent of Bass on the bar.
Once inside the pub now looks quite smart and still has two separate rooms with a lounge and bar,i had a drink in the lounge to the left,the bar room to the right was not open.
The room was oblong shaped with the bar facing,the floor was carpeted and the seating comfy bench type and chairs,there was a pool table to the left.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Purity UBU which the friendly bar lady pulled loads off and asked me to give it a taste before pouring it out,it was a very nice well kept beer.
This is a very pleasant estate pub.
