With the Name JD Bar I thought that this place was going to be some trendy bar full of students. So when I visited on Friday evening last week I was surprised to find a bistro with an older clientele that included pensioners and a couple of holidaymaking families with young teenage children in tow. The food looked good and was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The bar has a few standard draught products and I think at least one ale, maybe two. The toilets are located upstairs where there is some more seating and a table tennis table. Some café style seating is found outside where one can sit and watch the odd people of Hastings walk past. I spotted an open mic night advertised for Tuesdays at 21:30, but I saw no other upcoming events.

More bistro than bar and the only connection that I could spot in regards to the world famous Jack Daniels was the offer of a single with coke for £2 Monday thru Thursday.
