Alan Winfield left this review about The Sherwood Forester

The Sherwood Forester was a large three storey pub that had a slight gothic look to it.
Once inside there were a few different rooms with a decent enough bar and a lounge, the pub was an Ind Coope tied house when i first went in it,there were no real ales on the bar with the beer being keg Ansells bitter.
In more recent years the pub has still had keg beers on the bar.
The pub now looks to be in a sorry state with metal fences around it,probably about to be pulled down or turned into flats.
Yet another Normanton pub to close down.
