Large food led pub at the lake end of Waterloo's main street. Bright and airy inside with lots of pine, high tables and some settles etc. The biggest draw is the fact that it has two large beer gardens. You can sit outside in the sun no matter where the sun is in the sky, assuming it's out in the first place. There's no real ale, although there are two unused handpumps, so here's hoping. I had a half of Estrella and went and sat outside as the sun was indeed shining. It's a pleasant enough place and the food looked good but the lack of a decent beer lets it down.

Pretty vacuous place in my opinion. A bar and kitchen place which means shiny, soulless and lots of families with their kids in. Chain food menus everywhere and plenty of TV screens. I just found it dull and the lack of real ale didn’t help.

UPDATE: now back to being called The Marine.

7/3/16:
Pretty dire sports bar. Lots of sporty pictures/memorabilia dotted around as you would expect. A dull 'super bike' is proudly displayed by the front entrance. 2 handpumps on the bar with neither working and a Doom Bar clip reversed. It was rubbish when it was called the Marine and its just as crap now. Still you may like it and good on you if you do.
