Will Larter left this review about Greyhound Inn

This pub has been on my radar for a long time, but I've always found myself passing on my bike at a time when they're not open, or on the train with no means of getting from the station at Kirkby in Furness. So I made a plan, which involved getting a train to Foxfield, cycling to Broughton to while away some time at the Manor Arms, until twenty minutes before opening time here, giving me enough time for a pint before cycling to the station for a train to Lancaster. Perfect!

The pub has a small patio at the front and another to the rear, and has had a fairly recent smart coat of paint. Once inside, there's a large open space with arches and pillars replacing former walls. The bar is at the right rear, made from rough hewn slabs of timber. Speaking of rough, the background music - no, make that foreground - was from that end of the rock spectrum. The people working here were fairly young and dressed in a way that suggested the choice of music was consensual. On the bar, more relevantly, were four hand pumps, with Black Sheep Bitter and Ulverston Laughing Gravy available, plus a real cider. My Black Sheep was in good nick and excellent value for Cumbria, at £3 for a pint.
