Located in Bellshill’s Strathclyde Business Park, away from the town centre, The Avondale exists mainly to feed and water the Park’s office workers. This is reflected in the very restricted opening hours: from 7.30 a.m. until 7.00 p.m. on weekdays and closed completely on Saturdays and Sundays. Breakfasts are served from opening time until mid-morning and other meals throughout the rest of the day. It’s obviously principally food orientated, with a large open plan dining area beside a much smaller bar. There are only two draught beers (Fosters and Kronenburg) on sale, although others are available in bottles. Prices are reasonable, however, certainly in comparison to its nearest competition; the Hilton Hotel across the road. The whole establishment is bright, spacious, modern and comfortable, with sofa seating at tables and stools at the bar. All in all, an ideal location for a working lunch or a quiet afternoon drink, but certainly not for a night out, since it closes at 7.00 p.m.
