Visiting for an engagement party saw this U-shaped pub, now The Garden Bar, half cordoned off; the party occupying the right-hand side of the pub. Large garden/patio to the rear, mainly concrete and steps. Two beers on; an unremembered national and a very good Bedlam Phoenix as you would expect it to be for £5 a pint.

The Jamaica Inn is a U shaped pub with a pool table located either side of the bar. Unsurprisingly there is a reggae theme running through this pub and the Sunday Reggae Roasts were much lauded by the loyal locals that I spoke too during my visit early on a recent Saturday evening. There is a large beer garden at the rear and some picnic tables are located outside the front of the pub next to a food van. Be warned that this pub has some strange opening hours which are Monday from 1400 until midnight, Tuesday to Thursday from 13:00 until midnight, Friday and Saturday from 13:00 until 00:30 and Sunday from Midday until midnight. The kitchen is open Thursday to Saturday from 13:00 until 18:00 and on Sunday from 13:00 until done (when roasts run out). The bar has a selection of standard draught products and two hand pumps which were both off during my visit. I plumped for a pint of Guinness which was well served.
I found the staff and locals to be very friendly, but this is not the sort of pub I would actively seek out again.
