Glasgow's first Brewdog bar is, as you might expect, located in a pretty trendy area of the city opposite Kelvingrove Art Gallery. The place retains the usual Brewdog modern-industrial feel but somehow manages to feel a bit classier than your average Brewdog joint. The pub has large front windows which means that any window seat pretty much guarantees you great views out to the beautiful gallery over the road. A mosaic tile floor with a nice inlaid design feature was presumably inherited from a previous incarnation of this bar, but it helps give the place a bit of additional character and certainly looks very good. Some nice padded button backed banquettes run under the front windows, with smart bench booths to the right and high tables and rickety looking stools through the centre of the room. The walls are the usual rough, unfinished bare brick and the bar counter, located along the right hand section of the back wall, also has an exposed brick counter front. Mirrors, blackboards and Brewdog merchandise make up the rest of the decor and points of interest and I noticed some sort of soundtrack struggling to make itself heard over the general hubbub of a pretty good post-work crowd.
As I've come to expect from Brewdog these days, the staff here were very attentive and helpful, using their extensive knowledge of the Brewdog range to help make recommendations to bewildered customers and answering beer-geek questions with authority. A friendly barmaid poured me a half of their Indie Pale Ale, which I thought was a pretty tasty drop and was one of nine Brewdog beers available on draught alongside a further six guest brews.
I thought this was a good example of what a pleasant Brewdog bar might look like and have to wonder why more bars of this sort of style didn't materialise South of the border when they were initially rolling out across the UK. I enjoyed my relatively short visit here and am glad that we're seeing more and more new Brewdog bars in this vein nowadays.

A newish addition to the Glasgow pub scene having only opened its doors at the end of July (my visit was end August so it was still quite embryonic at the time). The pub (actually more of a bar) is a good stroll through the park from the City centre and is situated opposite Kelvindon Art Gallery and a few doors down from the Kelvindon Hall Sports complex.

The modern interior bar is a quite small with exposed brickwork, shop front windows bearing the Brewdog logos, bare girders, a modern brick bar and some unsightly air conditioning pipes that now seem to be an integral part of modern interior pub design. Seating was largely high tables with some sofas in the windows.

Naturally the Brewdog craft beers are showcased (I noted Trashy Blonde, Zeirgeist, Punk IPA and Imperial Wheat although there may have been more) and a guest (Meantime Londion Stout). Prices seemed above average for the city. Food was displayed across a couple of blackboards.

The atmosphere felt a bit more like a student bar with a youngish crowd and I can’t see that the stereotypical traditional beer drinker will find the place an essential visit although the pubs and bars in the immediate area don’t appear to offer much competition. It’s fine for what it is and obviously the beers are different to the norm but unless you’re in the area for a specific reason, I wouldn’t make a specific journey to there.
