A single room sports bar/Irish bar/locals' club type of bar, devoid of character and entered up a short flight of steps which makes it feel like ascending to one's doom. No doom-bar this, however (in fact no real ale at all). I didn't like it. Staff were not particularly welcoming, the few locals there were too cliquey and the atmosphere was at best bland. I wouldn't want to come back in, especially when the Hole in the Wall is next door. Sorry, Jim

Brennans is a largish pub that is joined onto the Hole in the Wall, this building used to be Long Eaton conservative club and Brennans opened around 2003 when the Con club closed down.
Once inside the pub has been opened out, there is a fairly large corridor which is used for drinking and a large smart room off this to the right this area was carpeted like the rest of the pub and it had comfortable bench seating in bays with chairs, the bar is at the far end of the corridor and there is more seating at this end of the pub.
There were two pumps on the bar with Marstons Pedigree and EPA but these were turned round, there were two keg options that i noticed these being Samuel Smiths Yorkshire bitter and Samuel Smiths Dark mild,i went for the Dark mild and this was a very nice drink and a bargain at £1.80 a pint.
This is a comfortable pub that caters for older drinkers and i was quite happy having a drink in here.
