lovely quaint pub and B&B on what feels like Wigan's old town. quirky like all Fifteens pubs with a mannequin inside a phonebox outside the pub... and like the others in this chain it feels like drinking in the red light district with hardened old Wigan pensioners! bizarre decor, but I liked it here. two real ales from St Austell and Bank Top. friendly and worth a visit.

This is a nice looking pub with the unusual feature of 2 red telephone boxes at the front. It's all one medium sized room with loads of pictures around the walls. There's plenty of eclectic furniture and a small raised area to one side. It has letting rooms and would be convenient for central Wigan, but judging by the boisterour clientele it may not be that quiet. 4 handpumps on the bar with just the 2 on. My pint of Hophurst Mellors was just about OK, but not very well kept. As I've said elsewhere, this small chain needs some training in how to keep good beer. None of their pubs seem to be capable of it.

An interesting pub both inside and out. The interior is traditional in style and has retained a lot of original features, a new 'A' roof extention has been added to the bar side room and has added more seating and table space. I had high expectations when strolling up to the bar and viewing their four handpumps in operation. It was only when a member of our party handed me a taster of their ale, that I nearly spat it out across the room. It had more than gone past it's best and so stopped me from even purchasing anything else. The landlady did turn the pump clip back. I tasted some of our chum's other ales, but we did all agree they were also not at their best. A big disappointment beer wise and for such a busy Friday Eve, I am surprised there was no one behind the bar to take responsibility to check the condition of the beers.
