This is a Stonehouse pizza and dining pub, and not really the sort of drinking experience I would go out of my way to try. But it was on my route back into Derby and I was interested in its art deco exterior. The interior is not much to write home about, but as a pub it seems to work, with quite a few locals even in that quiet afternoon period mid-way between lunch and dinner. There are four hand pumps but just Doom Bar on at the time of my visit. It was in reasonable condition (NBSS 2.5) but it needs to be kept better than this to be a decent drink, in my opinion.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Blue Peter
Large Art Deco roadhouse: its splendid façade must be one of the best of its type in the country. Inside, the 'L'-shaped bar is rather less impressive, featuring a corporate look to the multiple seating areas plus - as a Crown Carveries oulet - separate dining areas to side and rear. Pool. Fenced patio beer garden. Two of three handpumps in operation when I visited, offering Greene King IPA and Pedigree (£2.65).

I was surprised by the blue peter as it goes with a reputation however went for a sunday carvery for value for money, was impressed.
