Soup Dragon left this review about Blythe Inn

A cream rendered cottage styled country pub/restaurant and carvery, with low level extensions on either side and a beer garden.

The interior has two rooms, a bar and a restaurant, which are linked together by the carvery serving area. I did not eat so can’t comment on the food, but the restaurant seemed tidy enough from a glance – being in white mainly. The bar is on a split level, with the lower level being more of a lounge/bar food kind of area and the upper level being more bar stool orientated. All of this area is in a white artexy kind of look and there is a dart board and TVs which were not on. There are a number of landscapey/tree pictures on the walls and some general ephemera, including a few sewing machines. There is a small pool room around the corner, but it, like some of the seats are badly in need of recovering, as they are taped up in parts. The service was fine, there was no background music and the clientele seemed to be a wedding party, or such like, that had their own tent in the garden.

Beer; generally I say all the usual tap stuff, however, the bitter had run out. There was no MILD and on handpull there was just one of four with anything on, which turned out to be Greene King IPA. I had this in a shandy.

I think this place may have just been taken over and it needs something – a revamp on the seating and a better choice of beer, otherwise it isn’t worth finding out for the real ale fan, it would be one more for the diners.
