The worlds End is a Marstons tied house nestled up a small alleyway just off the Epperstone bypass in the small village of Loudham The pub is long and thin and is separated into two distinct areas that would have been separate years ago before being knocked through. The left hand side is set out strictly for diners that I don’t really like to see and the right hand side is the bar area. The pub is very old and hasn’t been modernised too much inside and keeps its low wooden beams and traditional carpets/bar stools etc. There is also a nice outside area with benches in the summer if you can stand the noise from the main road. When we arrived the bar had several drinkers standing around the bar and sitting on the few tables available, id say it only holds about 25 at a push. There was a nice open fire roaring on a chilly night and the regulars seemed chatty and up for a conversation. Had to wait a bit until a barmaid appeared and poured me a pint of Mansfield cask Bitter out of a permanent offering of that, Pedigree and Sunbeam. The Manfield was fine but a tad on the old side but drinkable none the less but seemed on the dearer side at £3.50 for a weak bitter in a Marstons house but Lowdham folk are a tad well healed. Overall I thought this was a solid place for pint even though it is only half a pub and actually turned out to be the more authentic “proper pub experience of the night”. I would return I fin Lowdham and the fire and outside seating provide a selling point for both seasons.

Consists of a long single room, with the bar facing you as you enter. There were low ceilings with original exposed beams. The bar end of the pub has an open fire and comfortable seating, the other side is mostly set out for dining and was busy on our mid afternoon visit. Three ales on handpump, I went for the Banks Sunbeam and Mansfield. Marstons Pedigree was the other choice. This is a well run pub, with friendly staff.

Went for Sunday lunch today. Food was fantastic, all freshly cooked from fresh produce. Staff were really friendy and accommodating and managed to squeeze us in even though we hadn't booked. So good, have already booked for next time!!
