This cavernous place was once the Kingswell Centre's open air piazza with benches and planters.

With a prototype midnight licence, it really served no purpose other than as a place to grab a couple more drinks come chucking out time. It is now a branch of Wagamama.

This trendy bar was originally called the Dome before a stint as Babushka’s finally led to the name Mojama.

Being a trendy bar it was usually frequented by the younger more affluent residents of Hampstead who could afford the high prices. It was one of those bars where a double was automatically given if a single was not specifically asked for. There was a large central bar that was always understaffed and the barmen took great delight in showing their cocktail mixing skills to the ladies whilst the queues for a drink built up to ridiculous levels. The funky house music was popular and a good laugh could be had in here at times, but one would usually only decide to go after drinking too much at one of the local pubs.

It was a pretty large place with seating by the doors and the bar was in the centre hiding a small dance floor behind which led to some more seating that was often roped off as a makeshift VIP section – good grief.

The doors closed on Mojamas in 2006 and the building has remained an empty shell ever since. Every now and again some movement is seen inside which sparks speculation from the locals as to what is going to happen with the place, but nothing ever comes of it.
