Real Ale Ray left this review about The Marwood
A mix between a modern pub and bistro. There was about half a dozen trendy female staff, congregated at the end of the bar, chatting away and getting prepared for a busy evening. The member of staff who served us was pleasant and helpful. The beer we choose was Malvern Hills, Black Pear premium bitter, which was decent. There was music playing at a reasonable level, the main eatery was towards the rear of the pub and there was a tapas bar upstairs. The clientele were middle aged and pretentious.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Marwood
A small terraced pub and restaurant with a rear patio area. Hemmed a little by large neighbours, the pub looks a mix of Georgian and Victorian in style. it is white painted brick with black paintwork and has rounded sash windows, dog-tooth cornice, an entablature above the door and with a dormer window perched on top.
The interior has a long straight room, that opens out in the middle to accommodate the serving bar, as well as a bit of part-partioning to break it up. The front is more for drinking, the rear more for eating, although there is another room above that i didn't see that is used for dining too. The decor is quite straight-forward, white ceiling, white artexy walls and a mix of stone flag and wood floor. There is the occasional beam thrown in too. There is a nice fireplace and the art on the walls is a bit bistro-style - old continental posters rings a bell, as well as ornate mirrors. There is an eclectic range of seating from pouffes to solid wood chairs with cushions on them. I didn't eat here, so can't comment on that. The service was very friendly and there were a few in at our early visit, both eating and simply drinking. There was no TV that i saw and the background music was general stuff at a decent level.
Beer; usual tap stuff with Peroni and other Continental beers, as well as Banks's Sunbeam, St George's Ascalon and a decent Butcome Bitter on handpull.
I enjoyed my pint here. A place i would happily pop into, although not really my style of place to stay for any length of time.

ROB Camra left this review about The Marwood
Walked into this pub at 12.15 on Saturday lunchtime, there was no-one in the pub or behind the bar. We had a bit of a look round the place which is long and narrow with a strange mix of almost Asian decor (any connection to the Hand In Glove which is similar?). After 4 or 5 minutes no-one had appeared to serve us so we left. We could have left with most of the contents of the spirits rack if we’d wanted, the owners being so apathetic or is it trusting? There were 3 handpumps on the bar two beers were on but who knows what they tasted like. Went 100 yards down the road to The Dragon for some good beer and service.
