The old Meantime Microbrewery is now a Youngs Pub and Dining venue. The Youngs interior design team have given this one a bit of a makeover since Meantime days and internally it’s quite a smart pub with a couple of brewing themed areas primarily aligned for dining. The old meantime brew kit still exists in situ but I don’t think anything goes on with it nowadays. However, this is another one where the KSP is the outside eating and drinking spaces. Firstly Youngs have extended the outside courtyard area so that it’s equally as big as the pub itself with a lot of it being undercover and on a hot day a really good spot for a pint. And then beyond this the pub extends onto the green grassy area outside where there are loads of additional bench seating with umbrellas which actually makes this an extremely large venue. It is primarily aimed at tourists and more aimed at diners than drinkers. So, for those just after a pint this is another one that I would recommend to wait until the weather is fine and you can use the exterior alfresco drinking areas. And in that respect two Young’s beers are usually available in the shape of original and special as they were for our last visit and we tried both and found them well-kept.
