A village local in the extended housing estate that is New Tupton. It's good to see that it is open and apparently thriving, after a period of closure. (Notices displayed internally about quiz nights and other events both here and at the Britannia suggest that they are now jointly owned.) There are four hand pumps, and my half of Greene King Scrum Down was in good condition. It was quiet on my midweek late afternoon visit, and I got a friendly greeting from the staff, and an even cheerier farewell - maybe they thought I was writing a review!
