The Three Blackbirds is situated on the busy Stapleton Road.
This pub looked like a right old dump from the outside,so i was well pleased to see it open.
Once inside there is an L shaped room with the bar on the left side, there is a pool table to the far left and a DJ rig to the left, there are a few normal tables and chairs to the front and some bench seating, the rear right area is up three steps.
There was a TV to the front showing horse racing.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths Smooth Crap, which was crap.
I like doing pubs like this and i was quite happy having a drink here,it was also fairly busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.

A somewhat run down looking pub on the main Stapleton Road, it does nonetheless exhibit some characteristics which hint of a slightly more illustrious past. Whilst the interior is now also long past it’s best, certain features such as a curved wood panelled bar and a wooden entrance porch with some stained glass around the top suggest that perhaps at one time this was a much classier establishment.

These days however it’s rather run down with shabby white paintwork and old carpets along with some red tiling around the bar. It’s a single room L-shape bar with a pool table off to the left which seemed a popular attraction. To the right was a raised area up a couple of steps that had some large speakers on stands, so presumably music features on some evenings. A small TV was on top of the porch in the corner and remnants of various Christmas decorations were still in evidence. There is some type of courtyard out the back with a corrugated plastic roof to keep out the inclement weather.

Other than that, there is little of note to say about it. The locals seemed friendly enough, if slightly odd – one lady came up to me and insisted she wasn’t Mary?! Unfortunately there were no real ales on tap and the solitary cider was Blackthorn.
