David Ross left this review about Auctioneers

So called because it used to be one, this has an unusual layout for a pub, presumably as a result of its previous incarnation. It consists of two separate, roughly square shaped rooms, with occasional alcoves to break up the regularity. Divided by an overhead stairway and connected by a wide passageway beside the bar counter, they are not specifically designated as bar and lounge, or as drinking and eating areas. Most diners were, however, in the section furthest from the entrance door. The quaint look it aims for, with antique mirrors, long ago city photos and old fashioned, if disused, fireplaces is only slightly diminished by the numerous TV screens. It offers extremely good value, with lunch and a drink sold on Mondays to Fridays, from noon until 3.00 p.m. for only £5. An exotic draught beer selection, especially for lager drinkers, offers Tennent’s, Stella Artois, Coors Light, San Miguel, Carling and Becks, all on draught. The choice for non-lagers drinkers is less varied, with only Guinness and something called “Smoothflow” ( at only £2.40 a pint) to be had. Three real ale taps, however, were unoccupied by real ale. There is also an impressive variety of bottled beers, wines and spirits on offer. An impressive pub and, if you’re walking between Glasgow Central and Queen Street Stations, this would be as good a place as any to stop for a drink in between.
