Ronnie Drews has seating either side of the bar that protrudes from the rear wall. Standard keg was available from the friendly barman. The bar faces booths that run along the left wall and under a big screen showing football at the rear are a couple of sofas. Sound was coming from the television and the background music, pick one FFS! This place has some historic features, but I didn’t see anything that would have me rushing back.

Named after a legendary local musician, this is on the CAMRA Inventory so got a visit off the back that. Slightly out of the immediate centre and is therefore 100% local. A U-shaped interior wrapped around a relatively ornate central bar, with a seating area to the left of the U (including a couple of semi-booths) and a flatter performance/eating space to the right. A lovely box moulded ceiling and the large arched stained glass windows are the main things to see, along with Ronnie roundels, but looking at the NI listing there has been a fair bit of tinkering and I wouldn't say it's particularly heritage now. Standard Diageo range, so Guinness for me. Mature barmaid was very welcoming of strangers and it was a fair stop for nose.

Now called Ronnie Drew's this pleasant little bar is one of my favourites in Belfast. Booths down one side of the bar to the left and another room to the right used for dining during food service hours. There's some nice stained glass and a fairly ornamental bar. Two muted TVs tuned to the racing channels being watched by several of the locals. What makes the place for me is the friendly efficient service and the warm welcome. One evening we were sat at the bar and one of the staff came over to tell us that a booth had just been vacated and would we like it, great customer service. Standard array of Irish kegs on the bar, so I had several pints of the Guinness over our 5 days in Belfast. It's a fine little place.
