Sat on the edge of the A259 I imagine it was a lot quieter back in the 11th century when the Lamb Inn was purportedly a shepherd’s cottage. According to the pub’s website the cottage became an Inn back in 1520 and to this day they still have a 24 hour license during lambing season. The actual opening times are 11am until 10pm (11pm on Fridays and Saturdays). This early closing reflects the fact that this is very much a food led pub, which is not surprising given its out in the sticks Pevensey Marsh location.
At the rear of the pub is a large car park and in between the pub and the A259 is a beer garden which consists of a patio by the rear doors which lead to a decked area which leads to a larger picnic table strewn lawn. A barrier has been put up to try and mask the noise of the passing cars and this outdoor space is well tended.
The bar is in the centre of the plot, which would have been the original building, and two extensions have been added to create two long and thin dining areas. These cosy spaces both have a rustic feel with exposed beams and brickwork. To the left of the bar are the toilets, including one with disabled access. In fact, the pub is very accessible with disabled parking spaces and ramps rather than steps inside the pub. There is a small TV in the bar area that was airing muted daytime TV (not sure why) and there was some very low background music playing.
During my recent Sunday afternoon visit it was reasonably quiet, but I would have missed the lunchtime rush. The Sunday roasts were advertised at £11.75 each and the kitchen opens with the pub and closes one hour before the pub. A standard and premium keg range is available from the bar and I counted five hand pumps. Two were drawing Harveys best, another two were drawing Sharps Doom Bar and the third Old Rosie pump was off for line cleaning. I liked it in here and as I live not that far away I will one day visit here for a meal with the family, but the remote location dictates that I would never pop in just for a beer.

Pleasant out of the place way, nice meal according to my memory (2003) They even have a place so your dog can have a drink. Was mistaken for an Aussie, no we dont bowl underarm where I come from. Will be back this Nov 2011 and will come over to your pub and of course explore Pevensy area more completely

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Lamb Inn

Located just off the A259 on the edge of Pevensey Marsh, this historic inn has been substantially extended to provide a large dining area in what is very much a food-orientated pub. Limited seating space for those just looking for a drink in the old part of the building (if the waiting staff don't try to shoo you away when it gets busy), plus a few wooden tables out front. I also noticed when leaving that there is a beer garden out back but this is appears to be unsignposted, largely hidden from view and thus empty. Two of three handpumps available, offering Doom Bar and a reasonable pint of Harveys (£2.80).
