Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Crown

Large pub / restaurant (with the emphasis very much on the latter aspect), featuring numerous, semi-separate seating and (mostly) dining areas plus a front beer garden. Just Doom Bar (£4.70) from the bank of three handpumps.

A detached pub and restaurant, with a patio area. The pub is in undressed brick, with a couple of wood panelled side gables. The pub looks modern, but it does incorporate and earlier pub of the same name - which was there at least in the 1880s, when it was pretty much all that was in Wergs. The pub website chooses instead to fantasise about the Battle of Tettenhall. The Monster's review below is spot on. The interior is modern, with a central island serving bar. To one side is the 'bar' area, which is in fact populated by polished tables and comfy seats. The rest is given over to dining, with a private area too. Features include the open hearth and some bistro art - as well as what looked like a wine display behind chains. The decor seemed to be a coffee and a clay colour, but i was in the beer garden most of the time. The service was fine, the clientele mixed, but all eating it seemed. Beer; some of the usual tap stuff, with a superior range of continental lagers and three handpulls that had; Doombar, UBU and a decent enough Adnams Kristal White. This is a plush restaurant with a 'bar' area that equally feels like a restaurant - so genuinely, as a traditionalist, i felt uncomfortable being there - to the point that i went outside. It goes for the 'higher-class' image and i half expected that not only would my car be the oldest on the car-park, but it would be clamped for being offensive. A place for a nice family meal, but not just a pint.

A Mitchell’s and Butlers pub which has recently had a complete internal rebuild, it is now very modern (lots of glass and mirrors) and entirely open plan. As you walk in the main entrance there is a fire place immediately on the left which is still used to warm the large bar area that covers the right hand side of the building, the left hand side is now a rather large upmarket restaurant, tables are set with cutlery and wine glasses ready for dining and free standing wine coolers are scattered around! For anyone who knew this pub before the refurb (Harvester) this will be quite a surprise. There is a circular central bar that serves all areas, the kitchen has an open servery as found in many expensive restaurants and the food is very posh nosh.

Regular ales are Timothy Taylor’s landlord, Enville Ale and Purity Pure UBU (all seem to be permanent). I very rarely touch the stuff especially if there’s ale on offer but it should be noted that there is Erdinger, Pilsner Urquell, Budvar and Peroni on keg.

An interesting refurbishment which is trying to mix a traditional bar area with an upmarket restaurant. To be honest it’s not really my cup of tea and it felt a bit strange just going in there for a drink so I’m not sure if it works but the ale was decent.
