I also thought that there would be a few ales on here. Only Ringwood Boondoggle and have to say it was a good pint. Large comfortable pub and well run.

A side street pub with quite a long façade, and the Marstons name on the sign promising at least a real ale or three, if not anything particularly interesting. It was slightly disappointing to see that only Ringwood Boondoggle was on, but this was in very good condition and we decided to have another. The landlord let us have our second round of halves gratis, because he wanted to clear the lines and put another beer on. If he was hoping to persuade us to stay for a third round, I'm afraid he missed his mark, but it seemed a friendly gesture and I wouldn't mind popping in again.
The pub is one large room across the front of the building, with not many tables and plenty of standing room, so I imagine it's part of a town centre circuit at weekends. It was pleasant enough on our midweek visit, though we were a little disturbed that one customer had his 9-year-old daughter with him well after her bedtime on a school night and long after he was in any sort of state to supervise her.
