A new build pub with a Travelodge behind and situated on a prominant roundabout with a large carpark to attract family diners. The interior is quite souless with fake beams, different sections but overwhelmingly corporate. The bar close to the entrance does have 4 handpumps offering from the Marston's portfolio on my trip Pedigee (fine ),Wychwood Dirty Tackle and Mansfield Bitter doubled up.Every table has pine furniture and is numbered so there is nowhere to escape diners.A carvery operates to the far right of the building,so I wandered as far away as I could get the other way to avoid the fumes of stewed vegetables.
Functional but very dull.

The Elms is a fairly large modern pub that is close to the M1 and is at the southern end of Lutterworth.
Once inside there was a large room with the bar facing, the room was divided into lots of different drinking areas, most of the seating was normal tables and chairs but there was an area with bench seating which was quite busy with drinkers on our early dinnertime visit.
The pub is a Marstons house and there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Banks's bitter which was a nice drink, the other beer was Pedigree.
The pub opens at 9.00 for breakfasts and the menu says eat as much as you like, that semms a good deal to me.
We were happy enough having a drink in this pub.

This is a Wolverhampton and Dudley family orientated pub. It is a new build to go along with the Travel lodge next door and is about 2 years old.Its a large pub but designed in sections around the central bar , so there is plenty of quiet seating areas dotted around. A really good feature is a large real open fire place , which on the chilly December lunch time we visited had a real open fire blazing away in the hearth.
Also good were the beers from the W&D range. Banks Original and Marstons Pedigree are the house Ales and there is usually a guest which was Jennings Redbrest. Only tried the Jennings which was perfectly fine.
Food menu was good and varied and as mentioned aimed at families with a kiddies menu as well. This does mean that you do get families with multiple pushchairs in, but the pub is big enough that you could avoid these if you wanted to.
Another major plus point was the service. We sat down at a table and started perusing the food menu. Before I 'd had a chance to get up and go to the bar a young lady appeared ready to take our order for drinks and food, both of which appeared promptly and efficiently. A nice touch was a small complementary plate of Tortilla Crisps and Salsa dip which was delivered with the drinks. In the end, a round of drinks, 3 mains, 3 coffee's..£35.00
So next time you're coming down the M1 through Leicestershire, you can either pull off into The Watford Gap Services, or pull off at J20 and go to The Elms for a Pie and a Pint. I know what I will be doing.
