The Sanderling has reopened as Bird & Signet and is no longer a Wetherspoons. The long interior with large open plan seating at the rear is still the same. The bar supports premium keg alongside Tennents and a couple from Beavertown. Food is available, the burger is priced at £14. I found the service to be polite and thought this place to be preferable to the other airside offerings.

Steve C left this review about The Sanderling (JD Wetherspoon)

The Sanderling is a surprisingly large long and thin Wetherspoons that is hidden down the side of Starbucks. Unsurprisingly there is a departures board and rolling news from both the BBC and Sky.
The bar supports four handpumps and a standard keg range alongside San Miguel and a bottled craft beer menu. The usual Spoon’s fayre is available. I found the service to be polite, but my burger was cremated. A good option for a pre-flight beer, but I wouldn’t eat here again.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Sanderling (JD Wetherspoon)

Semi-open airside bar, with all the character one might expect (i.e. none). Unadventurous choice of real ales from four handpumps (all priced at £3.15). Confusingly, the other 'spoons in the airport has a very similar name (Sandpiper).
