We stopped over in Kelso for a couple of hours and looking for somewhere to eat, we found the Black Swan. It is a lovely traditional setting with friendly and helpful staff and a relaxed atmosphere. We ordered soup and sandwiches for lunch and were amazed at the quality and quantity when they arrived. The choice of soup was home made Tomato and Lentil or Spicy Leek and Potato. Both were absolutely gorgeous. When the sandwiches arrived we were very plesantly surprised to see not the little triangles, with a token bit of lettuce that we get at our locals, but a plate full of sandwiches, salad and tortilla chips. Thank goodness we hadnt ordered anyting else as we were stuffed. I would highly recommend The Black Swan to anyone looking for good food, drink and service.
