A long, narrow pub with a side entrance through an arch and down an alleyway. The bar on entering was to the right and here you will find 3 handpumps. Sadly there were no real ales on on my visit. The narrow pub is well kept but the service was a bit shoddy on my visit. Not bad but not good.

Another of Kendal's deep and narrow pubs with a side entrance from the alley or "yard". The bar is towards the rear, with the front part of the room quite pleasant with its windows looking out onto the world going by and a rather nice stone fireplace on one wall. Three hand pumps on the bar had just the one beer on the go: Black Sheep Golden Bitter, not what I would have gone for if given a choice, but it was quite drinkable. Music was not too horrendously loud but still managed to be pretty awful from time to time; perhaps I'm just too sensitive.
