This former coaching inn is now the beating heart of Burscough and a brew pub,it was certainly busy on a Thursday evening. The interior is both plush and traditional, with various sections and seperate rooms,it does retain a hotel style layout. On entering there is a side room to the right with a vast boardroom table, one assumes this can be hired but there were no signs that you couldn't pitch down here. The otherside has comfy chairs below the front window.
The bar runs a good length of the interior and has lots of barstools ,so blockers will be an issue.Opposite the bar there is a rank of high tables, but beyond the bar to the left is the Piano Room,a quiet back snug with it's own bar access.A raised section at the back has bench seating with upholstered banquettes and dining style tables and although folk will eat here ,it's not an exclusive area if you just want to drink.
The food looked very decent quality with a slightly high price point for the area, while the bar offered 4 Hop Vine beers(a very good Summer Ale along with D'vine IPA,Hoppy Blonde and Best Bitter) along with guests TT Landlord and Moorhouse's Pendle Witches Brew. There is a loyalty scheme on Hop Vine ales, buy 6 get the 7th free.

I really enjoyed my visit and would happily call in again.A must visit in Burscough,I enjoyed their ales ,lively atmosphere and very friendly service.

I couldn’t believe how busy this place was on a Tuesday afternoon- that’s a village pub clearly doing something right. it was completely rammed with drinkers and diners, the only space was in the nice cobbled garden at the back (where you can find the brewery). other reviews detail the excellent real ale offering but this is very much a foody place from what I could gather. Nice and well run but a bit twee and ‘real housewives of West Lancashire’ so I think it would get on my nerves if I came here often.

I like real ale and this pub is for you. However some real ale drinkers take it far too serious and can bore you rigid prattling on and on about it. Got collared by one of em in here.
