Steve C left this review about The Lintot
The Lintot is a rather unattractive looking food led Marston’s establishment found on the edge of a shopping area. Unsurprisingly the pub was busy with dining families during my recent Sunday lunchtime visit. I didn’t look at a menu, but I would be surprised if the food quality or selection differed from any of this company’s other pubs.
The interior consists of a main bar at street level and an upstairs bar that allows access to an outside balcony area. During my visit this balcony area seemed to be mainly used to keep smokers off the pedestrianized street outside. Both bars are stocked with standard draught and I counted six hand pumps on the downstairs bar. Four of these were unused leaving Hobgoblin and Pedigree as the ale options. I had to return my pint of undrinkable Hobgoblin, which I swapped for a pint of Guinness. Looking around the pub I realised that everyone I could see was drinking lager, which helped explain the reason for the ropey pint I received.
I didn’t note the presence of any televisions and I do not recall there being any background music.
If I lived locally I would return here with the family to try out the food, but this pub is not on my list of return visits just for a beer.
