Good Beer Guide Entry in 2022.

Its a gastro pub - and very popular. Tuesday lunch time and people were queuing in their cars for the opening. A dash for the free tables. Some large groups booked.

Positives - service was excellent. Beers were in good form - three from Conwy Brewery and my Clogwyb Gold was fine.

Negatives - food very expensive. The fish finger sandwich should have been branded a batter sandwich.

This is a detached pub/restaurant with patio and garden areas. It was a private house that was converted/rebuilt into a pub after the 1920s and has since been completely refurbished into what is more a restaurant - although it is in the GBG. There is a restaurant room and a bar/snug area, which really, is also foody. Lots of old photos are on the walls in the bar area and landscapes in the restaurant. Coffee and purple is the decor, with green in the bar and blue in the back. It is very tidy, but being a misery, now lacks the tradition for me (darts and settles apart). The food isn't cheap, but is very good and the place always seemed to be rammed and the service was fine. Beer; usual taps and Peroni. Handpulls Weetwood Eastgate, Burton Bitter, Marston's New World, Conwy Coogwyn Gold and a superb Great Orme Brewery's Orme. A great beer choice, sadly (for my personal taste) in a modern restaurant environment. A must for the area, though.
