Country pub on the A44 that seems to be popular for its Sunday carvery, if my visit yesterday was anything to go by.
Staff seemed to look on my visit with a little suspicion, especially as I wasn't local, wasn't eating and didn't fancy any of the real ales offered. Old Speckled Hen is the regular beer. Guests were Town Crier & Wainwright.
Plenty of dogs and kids were around. The public bar has been modernised a little and there was a separate room to the side where people were heading to and returning with their roast dinners.
Probably good if you like a good Sunday roast. But I failed to warm to this Good Beer Guide listed pub.
