Steve Segar left this review about The Cross Foxes

May 2015 party of 13 pre-booked and pre-ordered. Saturday early evening we were greeted with a very warm welcome and shown to our table. Because we were a large party and the manager did not want to choke up the kitchen for a long time we had already selected our meals and so they were delivered quite quickly and were very well presented. Food was well cooked and hot and extremely tasty. Portions were quite large although there was quite a discrepancy depending on what you ordered. Some plates hungover whilst others looked quite sparse. Choice of deserts was somewhat hit and miss as there were very few of the traditional pub favourites but those who partook were very happy.
price wise this establishment is fairly and squarely in the middle of what competition is offering locally. We found it to be pricy in comparison with other areas in the country but we were not able to find much significantly cheaper in the locale.
The pub itself has made very good use of the beautiful spot it occupies. The River Dee runs across the front of the pub and the gardens were immaculate when we were there. lots of tables and chairs outside (including some undercover), there is a lovely conservatory on the side and even in the low beamed main building tables and chairs were very comfortable. The staff were extremely courteous and really made us welcome and service was top-notch.
We will definitely call in again when back in the area even if just for a drink whilst watching the river pass by.
