If by chance you are in Alfreton and value your sanity, give this one a wide berth as it should be avoided like the plague. The facade looks fine but this only flatters to deceive as you soon realise. The warning signs were there when i trundled through a heap of rubbish in the porch, and it went further downhill thereafter. There was around 15 characters strewn around who all looked like they had been hand picked extras for a Martin Scorcese film.Luckily there was nobody behind the bar so i made a sharp exit stage left and sidled out through the side door to the safety of the King Alfred.

Went in on Tuesday the 5th of July it was quiet like rest of the town the girl was friendly with us she was told by a customer that somebody had been sick out side on the patio she got a bucket of water and cleaned it up which is good to see Will call in next time we are in the area

The Blue Bell is in the middle of Alfreton and it used to be a Bass tied house.
Once inside here the pub was very busy with older drinkers and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Pedigree and this was a decent drink the other beer was Hobgoblin.
