A pub that’s missing the boat. Multi area'd interior seemingly stuck in the 80s - embossed wallpaper, 30 watt lighting. A general ambience of trying to be upmarket but sort of missing. Three ales, a big yawn for Doom Bar and Pride but a better choice in W&E Guardsman, although condition-wise it was a bit below par. However three brown bitters in this day and age makes me re-iterate my accusation that the place is stuck in an odd timewarp. Apparently there’s a dubious claim to having the UK’s largest sandwich menu, though I missed that particular USP. Has potential though.

Serious sandwich bar, a range of sandwiches you could not imagine and on real bread ... strange sort of place, but very pleasant.
