This is a purpose built Lees pub next door to a budget hotel. It's all one big room, with a small tap room area to the right of the entrance and a large restaurant area towards the back. It specialises in carvery meals but also has a full menu available in the pub. The steak & ale pie was pretty good as well. It's decorated in a modern style with no real distinguishing features, but all the seating is comfortable and good quality. There are 3 handpumps which were selling Lees Bitter, Strawbeery (the current Lees seasonal) and the 3rd pump was turned round but was clipped with Coronation St. Ale. The Bitter & the Strawbeery were both OK without really being top class. It's a food pub with beer really, but it does have a few regulars calling in. It's OK for a couple.
