A slightly upmarket pub across from Windsor Castle so will attract tourists, knocked through open plan layout but retaing seperate areas. Three McMullens beers on, Duchess, Country Bitter and IPA.
Its Ok but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Unusual to find a dedicated McMullen's house in Berkshire I thought but there you go, straight opposite HRH's house but I doubt she's been in for one, although I wouldn't put it past Phil. Although knocked through it feels like three areas, goes back a fair way, levels stepping according to the terrain. The front room is carpeted, the rest boarded, lots of exposed brickwork plus some fancy pattered wallpaper. There are stacks of McMullen's breweriana, posters, mirrors, framed adverts, I liked the 70s looking picture of a youthful Prince Charles having a glass with a mutton chopped old gent, possibly in here, given the location. Continuing the 70s theme there is a load of beaten copperwork around the bar area and bar back. A couple of feature beer casks form part of the bar counter front. A side bench had a row of old military uniforms above and of note was a large portrait of the founder Peter McMullen.
Not as touristy as you may expect considering the location however the rather drunk large guy sat by the entrance who dozed off and on may have had something to do with this.
Two sets of three handpumps repeated, McM IPA, Country and pub branded Duchess.
Food served, outdoor terrace to the rear.
Service was cheerful and friendly and the overall atmosphere good, although I find McMullen's a bit dreary I'd pop by again.
