This has been the nearest I have to a local for over 10 years now. As well as having the best outside seating views in Cornwall it serves great cider and beer..and really good value and good tasting food. It does lack a regular clientèle which is a shame, but the staff are nearly all part of the owners family and have been around for as long as I can remember.

For walkers there is the Hall Walk just up the road..often stated as one of the classic Cornish walks.

Nice old pub at the bottom of the hill. Very handy for the Fowey ferry (hence the name!) being about a one minute walk from the Quay. And I would guess most of the pub's clientele are going to come from this route, there doesn't appear to be a massive amount in Bodinnick.

There's a small patio area with terrific views down the estuary. Probably the best view of all the pubs in the Fowey area, although I guess the Galleon gives it a run for it's money. The amount of outside seating is quite small, only about half a dozen tables at most, so you might be lucky to find anything on a nice day.

They have a sideline selling ice-cream which should keep the kids happy, and I enjoyed a very pleasant pint or two of Sharp's Orchard cider which I had not come across before.
