A pub of two halves; a trad stone building with a new (COVID-era?) glass and metal bit with rooftop al fresco dining grafted on the side. Worried it would be a snooty gastro but actually the inside of the main bar is rustic and traditional; quarry stone floor, bench seating, whitewashed stone and wood walls, black bar upper with inlaid portholes. Friendly welcome from the staff and we were politely directed to the characterful drinking area. Three cask on the go; Evan Evans Warrior (NBSS 3.5) and Cwrw Haf alongside Harbwr North Star (1.5 - on the turn). One cask too many, but the place itself was nice enough and it’s worth popping in.

The Griffin Inn is a smallish seafront pub at the end of the large expansive beach at Dale, overlooking the boat slipway. Externally it’s a fairly plain square white stone pub, but internally it’s a comfortable two sectioned set up with a dining room area as you enter and then a smaller lounge area to the right with stone fireplace.
The front of the pub overlooks the bay towards Milford Haven and there are two bench seats out front which provide a very sunny spot for a beer and although on the roadside, it’s not on the through road and is therefore quite quiet with local traffic only.
The bar supports five handpumps and there were four ales on at the time of my visit. I think this place is a Felinfoel house as there was Cambrian Best Bitter and Double Dragon on, and these were added to by Brains Reverend James and Rhymney General Picton, and the couple I tried were very well kept..
We didn’t eat but the food menu looked to be decent traditional pub fair and although quiet on the early lunchtime we visited this seems a decent pub for Pembrokeshire coast walkers, tourists and locals alike.
