The Gate like most round these parts is a Former Hardy and Hanson’s now Green King pub. Located further down the high street than the Clyde this is one of the most central Kimberly pubs. Once you enter you are confronted by one long bar with some curved bench searing to the left and some high tables and chairs to the right with the rest of the space mostly standing room. There is also another room behind the bar that we did not visit as most people were in the main bar area but I would assume this is with the lion’s share of the seating and possible were diners sit if food is available. This was one of the busiest pub son our Kimberly crawl and had a large proportion of the middle aged market with a lot of 40 something’s enjoying a drink in there, possible for the music which was pretty loud but quite good as it was Thin Lizzy, a personal Favourite. Beer choice was limited to just two hand pulls, Moreland Original and Nottingham EPA. The EPA was £3.30 and perfectly drinkable but not top notch. We quite enjoyed our time singing along to some classic rock but this is not really my sort of place but the lively atmosphere was welcome after coming out of the Lord Clyde. It has obviously been refurbished over the years and was pretty standard green king decor inside with ahrd wooden floors but was a reasonable place to pop in to for a drink but not somewhere I would stay for a long time. Ok if Passing.

The Gate Inn is a decent pub that is in the middle of Kimberley and it is almost opposite the Queens Head.
This pub used to be a Kimberley tied house and there were two real ales on the bar, when i first went in here i had a drink of Kimberley bitter and this was a very nice drink.
This was a decent two roomed pub that was quite comfortable inside.
The pub is now more than likely a GK house.
