A Hungry Horse with a large car park and tidy garden containing a children’s play area.  There is also a covered smoking terrace at one side. Inside is a single [-shaped bar, carpeted and loosely divided into 3 zones.  One wing is a dining area, the centre is a bar area with a sign saying ‘no children beyond this point’; sadly, as most of the locals can’t read, this sign is rather ineffective. The left hand end is a games area with a pool table and some gaming machines, plus a large TV right at one end.  The pool table was not available for use as it was being hogged to entertain children, many of whom were under 5.  There were five handpumps on the bar serving GK IPA, Doombar, Abbott, Rosie’s Pig and Old Rosie.  I had the Doombar which was in poor condition.  The staff were pleasant but inefficient.    I won’t be rushing back here.
