An historic pub with some superb, and possibly unique, glass screens over the bar counters. It is long and narrow, with a games room right at the back. Sadly it is now in the Craft Union group and cask ale has been discontinued, and with new management even the previous mainstream keg is being abolished and replaced with John Smiths Smooth crap. Worth looking in for the interior but don't bother drinking.

Very much a traditional place. Its all slightly Victorian-like inside and is a nice pub. Beer wise its not so good with only 1 of 3 pumps on and only Speckled Hen being that one. Its not bad but its not great either.

Alan Winfield left this review about Albert Hotel
The Albert Hotel is situated in the middle of Huddersfield.
Once inside there is a small room to the front which has bench seating and chairs, the bar is up a few steps to the rear on the left side, there is more bench seating in this area, there is also a separate room to the rear which is square shaped and carpeted, the seating is comfy bench type and normal tables and chairs.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Copper Dragon Golden Pippin which went down well, the other beers were Black Sheep Special and Bombardier.
This is a decent enough town pub to have a drink in.
