Rooms to front and rear left with bar at rear right. Standard keg rubbish but it did have Tomatin whisky.

peter ashworth left this review about Tam O' Shanter Inn

This attractive thatched roofed building has been a pub for nearly 250 years(apart from a spell in the 50's as a museum to Burns and Tam O'Shanter)and in Burns's epic poem thought to be the starting point for Tam O'Shanter's drunken journey. This is a small pub with the bar to the right of entry and a seated drinking area to the left with another small area on the left up a few steps beyond the bar. There is a decorative stained glass door and what appears to be a few of the original beams still intact although no handpulls on show. There is also a Tam O'Shanter café next door for any foodies. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Ayr
