The White Horse at Hendrerwydd is a classic Welsh village local. Parking is at the rear overlooking fields full of sheep, with all the smells that come with the ovine beings. There are a couple of outdoor hut-type structures also at the rear where a young couple seemed to be enjoying their company (and possibly the smells).

We ventured round to the front of the pub and entered to find very few people in. They asked if we'd booked for food, but we were still made to feel welcome, despite only being there for a drink.

Ales on were Wye Valley Butty Bach, Purple Moose Whakahari & Cwrw Llyn Seithenyn. I chose the Seithenyn, which was certainly well kept.

We were invited to wander behind the bar through to a really cosy snug, where we got chatting to an elderly couple who were knowledgeable about the local rural pubs. There was a good collection of banknotes high up on one wall. You pass through another room on the way to the toilets, making this another pub that has much more space than you'd first anticipate on entering.

I wasn't expecting much from this pub, but I was pleasantly surprised by the pub itself and its friendly staff and customers.

A remote country pub at the foot of the Clwydian Hills. Now reopened under new ownership. There is a small bar and a larger lounge/restaurant. Real Ales Served.
Now open all day every day.
The pub is on the regular No 76 bus route from Denbigh to Ruthin and is an important part of the annual 10 Pub "Route 76 Beer Festival" on the first Saturday in July.
