Large traditional locals pub which has retained a fair amount of character. Staple shaped with a long main bar and pool room. Tile and wood flooring, operational log fire, curved varnish wood bench seating, varnished slat panelling and an impressive bar topper with inset shelving sporting many trophies. Presumably these come from the teams who utilise the darts and pool tables dotted round the pub. Pies spotted in a heater behind the bar. One unused handpump which was really disappointing given its GBG18 status. Three Brew dog bottles and a keg of Keith Pale on of interest so went for the latter which was a gassy and forgettable drink. The lack of ale lets the side down here, as otherwise it’s a good pub worth dropping in for should you be nearby. 6.5
