The Yorkshire Grey has a bar on the right hand wall, high tables in the centre and seating along the front windows and left hand wall. There is also a raised seating area to the right rear and plasma screens throughout compliment the two projector screens. The pub was pretty quiet on the recent Saturday afternoon that I visited whilst a premiership football match was playing via Sky Sports. Table football can be found in a corridor at the rear that leads to the toilets and a paved beer garden out the back. Within the garden are some picnic tables covered by a couple of jumbrellas, another two plasma screens and a test your kicking strength football machine.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and I counted four hand pumps. One of these was unused leaving Copper dragon Brewery’s Silver Myst, Marston’s Single Hop El Dorado and Rudgate Brewery’s Jorvik Blonde as the ale options.
Out of the pubs I visited during a crawl of the area I thought that this was the most comfortable place to sit and watch the football and the service was very friendly. I would have no problem returning for another afternoon beer, but the football machine in the garden leads me to believe that I would find this pub less enjoyable weekend evenings.

The beer choice here consisted of Ringwood Boondoggle Blonde, Banks's Sunbeam and Brakspear Oxford Gold: all bland modern beers based on lager malts. Our two halves of Oxford came to £3.10, which seems a bit steep for South Yorkshire. It was fairly quiet on our early afternoon visit, but I can imagine this place would be heaving on a Friday night. I don't intend to come back to confirm my suspicion.
