Brick built pub at southern end of the market place. Smaller and cosier than the outside suggests the counter is to the left in a narrow part of the pub. To the right is a small bar with banquette seating all round at wooden tables and with a couple of screens and dartboard. Carpeted and decorated with old photos of Driffield. Four handpulls but only one in operation with a very decent Wadworths 6X a long way from Wiltshire. Usual kegs. It goes further back but the bar blockers in the narrow part made exploration difficult, I could see the parrot cage with a warning about them biting. Older punters and it’s a nice old fashioned sort of place.

Bar to the left middle and pool table to the rear. TVs in front room. Few real ales - all weak.

We walked in here on a Saturday lunchtime visit. The pub was fairly busy with male drinkers only and were presumably locals. The pub interior is traditional and consisted of a small front bar running along the left hand wall and a seating across from the bar. There were five handpumps, with two in use. One handpump had a Woodforde's Reedlighter clipped to it, whilst the other pump had a hand written clip, which was illegible. We asked the barman what beer was the hand written one and he just stood there and blanked us, as though he didn't want us in there. So ignorance prevails in this pub and obviously the landlord/barman doesn't like visitors.
